On 9 August 2023, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC was inaugurated as the 30th Governor of Victoria.

Since taking up her position as the Queen’s representative and Head of State in Victoria, the Governor has been Patron of Foodbank Victoria.

Stephen has over 25 years’ experience in Australia and internationally in branded consumer goods and fast moving consumer goods, with more than 15 years in CEO and General Management roles. Stephen is a Fellow member of CPA Australia. Stephen is Chair, a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and a member of the People & Remuneration Committee.

Claire has more than 25 years’ experience in senior finance roles, principally within higher education and the banking and financial services industry. She is currently Executive Director of the Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology at the University of Melbourne. Claire is Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Catherine has 20 years of legal, regulatory, policy and advocacy experience specialising in promoting equality, human rights and social justice and has undertaken a range of leadership roles in the public and private sector. Catherine is currently a consultant, supporting organisations and governments to create safe, equitable and inclusive cultures and to deliver outcomes that promote human rights. Her prior roles have included the Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Telstra, where she led Telstra’s DEI strategy and initiatives; Executive Director, Department of Health, providing legal advice and assistance to the Department and its Ministers to support the response to COVID-19; and Executive Director, Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission. Catherine is member of the Nominations and Governance Committee as well as the People and Remuneration Committee.

Tom has over 15 years of domestic and international commercial experience across retail and consumer goods industries, both as an external strategy consultant and as an in-house team leader. Tom has particular focus on working with Boards and Senior Executives on strategic, commercial and operational issues. Tom is a member of the Audit & Risk Committee.

Amber started her career in advertising in London focusing on FMCG brands before working with Tesco across the UK. Since then, Amber has worked in brand development and marketing communications in Australia, the UK and the US for over 25 years. On returning to Australia, Amber worked with Coles and Target as General Manager of Digital Marketing, GM Housebrand, GM Category Marketing and GM Brand & Media as well as leading the activation of key charitable partnerships. Most recently Amber was Chief Marketing Officer for Australia Post running business, consumer and community marketing. Amber is Chair of the Nominations and Governance Committee.

Juliette has over 20 years’ experience leading organisation transformation and is passionate about the area of leadership and people development. She consults to business and community leaders across Australia in a number of areas which include, strategy, board and executive development, culture engagement, employee wellbeing and organisation transformation. Juliette has led People and Culture portfolios across the Private and Public Sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom. Juliette has a particular interest in philanthropy and the Not for Profit sector, and the critical role they play in society at both a local and global level. Juliette is Chair of the People and Remuneration Committee and member of the Nominations and Governance Committee.

Kelly has over 30 years’ commercial experience in finance, strategy, transformation and operational roles in high-growth organisations across consulting, transport and supply chain industries. She has held roles including Interim CFO at Bupa, Executive General Manager, Finance and Commercial at Toll Global Logistics, General Manager, Parcels and Deputy CFO at Australia Post, and General Manager Finance and Tax at Linfox.

Dave is a socially minded former chef whose passion for food has taken him from working in some of Melbourne’s most well-known restaurants to leading the largest food relief charity in Victoria. After many years working in the not-for-profit sector, Dave was appointed as Foodbank Victoria CEO in July 2013, bringing with him a drive to change the injustice of food insecurity that many people in Victoria face. In 2014, Dave successfully advocated for government support to provide healthy school breakfasts to vulnerable children. Since the School Breakfast Clubs program launched in 2016, over 40 million meals have been served across 1,000 Victorian schools in partnership with the State Government. During the last three years of tumultuous change, Dave has established ambitious and innovative food programs to reach our most vulnerable communities where they live.

Justin is an experienced CFO, a qualified CPA and AICD Director. He joined Foodbank in 2024 after performing leadership roles at Mars (Australia and China), Nando’s (Asia Pacific) and most recently with Emirates Leisure Retail. He leads our Finance, IT and Strategy teams.

Katie is a highly experienced Food Industry professional, with extensive experience across the end-to-end ANZ agribusiness value chain. Throughout her career, Katie has had a strong focus on supporting food producers in developing strategies and sourcing products that are aligned with local and global market trends. Katie has completed a Bachelor of Food Science and Technology and a Master of Agribusiness. Passionate about Foodbank’s commitment to all Victorians having access to nutritious food, Katie joined our team in June 2021 and plays a vital role in ensuring a continuous supply of high quality, healthy food is sourced and distributed to the community.

Cherie is a highly experienced People & Culture professional with over 25 years’ experience working for an ASX-listed discount variety retailer with 4,000+ team members across Australia. Cherie joined our team in April 2023 and brings her passion for partnering with business leaders and their teams to develop people strategies that support the delivery of their objectives. Her experience includes driving process and organisational improvement, efficiently resolving employee relations matters, developing and sourcing talent, cultivating a positive and collaborative business culture and ensuring team member engagement is at the heart of everything an organisation does.

Chris’ career spans over 25 years in hospitality, beginning as a chef and advancing to senior management positions at Spotless Services. Notably, Chris served as Executive Chef at prestigious Melbourne venues, the MCG and Victorian Arts Centre. Chris’ unwavering passion for food persisted.  With over nine years at Foodbank, Chris witnessed the alarming growth of food insecurity among disadvantaged Victorians, igniting a commitment to effecting positive change. Dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives, Chris channels his expertise and empathy to alleviate hunger and foster resilience in communities. Beyond food, Chris is deeply invested in environmental conservation, aligning with organisations commitment to sustainability.
