Three Years of Supporting Students:

Allianz Partners and Foodbank NSW & ACT Student Market Stalls

As cost-of-living pressures continue to affect students across NSW and the ACT, access to fresh, nutritious food can make a meaningful difference. That’s why Foodbank NSW & ACT is proud to partner with Allianz Partners for a third consecutive year to deliver Student Market Stalls at universities throughout the state and territory.

Through this partnership we’ve been able to provide practical support directly to students, helping ease financial pressure and ensuring more students can focus on their studies.

Across four university campuses, Foodbank NSW & ACT and Allianz Partners brought fresh fruit, vegetables and pantry staples directly to students through a series of Student Market Stalls.

This year’s program visited:

  • University of Canberra
  • University of Newcastle
  • Western Sydney University Parramatta
  • Australian National University

The response from students was overwhelming, with long queues forming at each location as students accessed free food and essential groceries.

“I want to say a massive thank you, we can’t imagine how important this is for students.

They’re walking away with fresh food, which is vital and will sustain them for the next week and incredible how much it contributes to their wellbeing, their sense of community and their part of our university. “

Mark Trevaskis

CEO, UNSA – University of Newcastle Students Association

Over the course of the 2026 Student Market Stall program, together we:

Supported more than 3,150 students

Distributed over 24,000 kilograms of fresh fruit, vegetables and pantry staples

Travelled more than 1,460 kilometres across NSW and the ACT to reach students where support was needed most.

Behind every number is a student who was able to take home fresh food, save money on groceries and feel supported by their community.

While the food distributed is vital, these market stalls offer something more. They provide a moment of relief for students navigating increasing financial pressures and serve as a reminder that support is available.

“For Allianz Partners, this partnership is about turning our commitment to student wellbeing into practical support.

The market stalls help ease some of the immediate cost-of-living pressures international students are experiencing, while also creating a sense of connection and support on campus.

Our people look forward to volunteering each year, giving them opportunity to connect directly with students and see firsthand the difference this support can make.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved alongside Foodbank and participating universities, over the past three years and the difference we’re making together.”

Miranda Fennell

Executive Head of Health, Allianz Partners

At each market stall, volunteers from local universities worked alongside Foodbank NSW & ACT and Allianz Partners teams to help distribute food and create a welcoming environment for students. From packing bags to greeting students and helping manage queues, the collective effort demonstrated what’s possible when organisations come together with a shared purpose.

The continued support of Allianz Partners has helped Foodbank NSW & ACT expand the reach of these market stalls and connect with thousands of students across the state and territory.

In its third year, the partnership continues to deliver tangible outcomes for students facing rising living costs, helping ensure that a lack of access to food doesn’t become a barrier to education.

Foodbank NSW & ACT CEO Samantha Prescott said the partnership has helped strengthen the organisation’s ability to meet rising demand.

“Thanks to Allianz Partners we were able to travel to four universities across NSW and ACT distributing fresh produce to students.

I always look forward to these Pop Ups every year, I know the difference it makes to students, especially throughout their busy study season.

I love seeing the excitement and joy on students faces when our big purple truck roles into their campus.”

Together, we’re helping students fill their bags, ease pressure on household budgets and focus on what matters most: their future.

As demand for food relief continues to grow, partnerships like this remain critical in helping Foodbank NSW & ACT continue its mission to end hunger in our communities.
