Jack Redden from the West Coast Eagles has joined the fight against hunger
Foodbank WA is excited to announce that emerging West Coast Eagles (WCE) midfielder Jack Redden has been appointed as our 2018 Foodbank WA Ambassador.
Foodbank WA’s longstanding ties with the West Coast Eagles reflect our shared history, common values and strong community links.
Redden, who takes over the reins as Foodbank WA Ambassador from WCE Captain Shannon Hurn, is aiming to take his game to another level on the field while championing the fight against hunger off it.
The Australian Rules football player joins Perth Wildcats Captain Damian Martin and Celebrity Chef Anna Gare as the newest member of the Foodbank WA 2018 Ambassador family.
Jack said: “I was shocked to learn that 94,000 West Aussies rely on Foodbank WA for a meal each month. There is more that can be done for those that are going without. I’ve joined the fight against hunger and I am fired up to make a difference”.
To mark the occasion, Redden was presented with a Foodbank WA t-shirt by Foodbank WA CEO, Greg Hebble.
“Jack’s youthful enthusiasm will be an asset to us at Foodbank WA. He will continue the great work of Shannon in raising awareness of the prevalence and impact of hunger on vulnerable Western Australians.
“Jack has recently become a father himself and he understands that we really do owe it to our community to ensure Foodbank WA can reach those most in need”, Greg said.
