Queensland Police make a Splash!

Earlier this month, the Queensland Police Service launched their 2018 Food Drive in great fashion by loading the Foodbank Purple People Feeder onto a brand new police vessel in front of cameras and media.

Police Commissioner Ian Stewart was in attendance to launch the event and supported by Inspector Trevor Gould, Foodbank CEO Michael Rose and Redlands MP Kim Richards.

“It’s ironic and symbolic that the load limit of this vessel is 7 tonne and that’s exactly the amount of food that we want to collect and distribute this year with the help of Foodbank” Commisioner Stewart stated.

The launch was aimed at getting attention and raising public awareness for food relief in Queensland and the QPS team are already looking for bigger and better ways to launch next year.
