By pledging an annual donation of $5,000, Hunger Heroes help deliver over 10,000 meals to Queenslanders in need each year. We believe all Queenslanders deserve access to good quality food. However, every single day, Queenslanders are going hungry. With your help, Foodbank can continue to get food where it’s needed most, distributing to local charities and schools right across Queensland. Our food supplies are provided to thousands of adults and children experiencing hunger every single week. With your support, we can continue this important work and give hope to families in need.

About becoming a Hunger Hero

Foodbank Queensland is the state’s largest hunger relief charity, operating for more than 30 years. Our vision is a Queensland without hunger.

Your donation makes a real difference in the lives of Queenslanders experiencing hunger. When you give to Foodbank Queensland, every dollar goes further than you might imagine. Thanks to our partnerships with farmers, manufacturers, and retailers, just $1 provides 2 nutritious meals to Queenslanders doing it tough.

We provide more than 150 meals every minute and over 10,000 meals every hour of operation.

Yes. All donations of $2 or more to Foodbank Queensland are tax-deductible in Australia. You will receive a receipt by email for your records.
Yes. You’ll receive an immediate tax receipt by email if you have selected to pay via credit card. If you have chosen to pay with an invoice, the Foodbank Queensland team will be in contact within 2 working business days. After payment is received, a receipt will be provided.
As your 12-month Hunger Heroes commitment comes to an end, we’ll be in touch to invite you to renew your support for another year.
As a Hunger Hero, your business will be celebrated as part of a proud community of Queenslanders standing up for families in need. You’ll receive a Certificate of Appreciation, a digital Hunger Hero badge, and recognition on our online Honour Roll, plus quarterly impact updates to share with your team and customers. Most importantly, your business will be seen as a local leader, showing true Queensland spirit and proving that when locals help locals, no one goes hungry.
Every $1 you donate helps us provide 2 meals to Queenslanders experiencing hunger. Your support helps us source and distribute fresh fruit and vegetables, pantry staples, and other essentials to our 350 Community Partners and 400 Schools across the state. Because of you, a child can eat breakfast before school, a parent can put dinner on the table and a neighbour can find hope in tough times.
44% of the groceries we provide are healthy, fresh fruit and vegetables. We also supply long-life pantry staples such as rice, pasta, cereal and canned goods, as well as fresh milk, bread, meat and other essentials
The Hunger Hero program is designed for small businesses to engage with supporting their local communities through an annual $5,000 contribution and to join the movement to end hunger.
