  • More than 1 in 3 single-parent households in Australia are regularly skipping meals or going entire days without food. 
  • 22% of Queensland households facing hunger have dependent children in the home.
  • Food insecurity is being felt more in regional areas (36%) compared to metropolitan areas (28%). This divide is growing, as food insecurity grows in regional areas, while decreasing in metropolitan areas.
  • Nearly half (44%) of Queensland’s low-income households (earning less than $30,000 per year) are experiencing food insecurity each year.
