Foodbank Bunbury Project
A new home for community connection, support and food relief.
We’re excited to share that our Bunbury branch is on the move. Plans are underway to relocate to a purpose-built facility in Dalyellup Beach Estate, just a short distance from our current site. This new space will be more than just a Foodbank WA branch – it will be a community hub.
Community voices shaping our future
On 11 September 2025, we held a community consultation to hear directly from you. Your feedback is helping shape a space that reflects what matters most to the people of Bunbury and surrounds.
Key themes from the consultation included:
- Affordability and fairness: reviewing meat options, voucher shopping and pre-packed bags.
- Social environment: keeping a welcoming foyer, concierge, one-to-one service and friendly greetings.
- Accessibility and comfort: improving parking, disabled access, seating, trolley areas and shelter.
- Service expansion and innovation: exploring ideas like “South West Foodbank”, cafés, cooking programs and confidential consulting spaces.
- Facilities and infrastructure: expanding cool room and freezer space, improving roller doors and providing free Wi-Fi.
- Community connection: adding a services directory, community board, suggestion box and shopping bags for sale.
We’re listening and we’re committed to building a branch that truly serves your needs.
A hub for integrated support
The new branch will be co-located with two incredible partners:
- Youth Focus, offering mental health support for young people.
- The Financial Wellbeing Collective supported 48,332 Western Australians last year to navigate financial hardship and stress. For more information about the services available visit thefwc.org.au
Together, we’re creating a space where people can access food, support and connection – all under one roof.
Funding update
We need to raise $6.8 million to bring this vision to life.
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes, applying for funding and building relationships with government, corporates and philanthropists.
We’re thrilled to announce that the Minderoo Foundation has committed $1 million to the project. It’s a huge step forward and we’re so grateful.
