Viktor,

When you walk into the warehouse and see Viktor, you can’t help but smile because he is always smiling!  Viktor volunteers 3-4 days a week and he loves that each day is different; working with different teams but working towards a common goal.

Seeing happiness in others is a great motivation. I am so happy to contribute. I love to be a part of the team.

When you walk into the warehouse and see Viktor, you can’t help but smile because he is always smiling!

Viktor volunteers 3-4 days a week and he loves that each day is different; working with different teams but working towards a common goal.

Viktor’s introduction to Foodbank WA was completely by chance when he looked into joining a Men’s Shed. A lady there told Viktor about us and he was here the next morning and the rest is history! Viktor has been with us now for nearly 3 years and in that time he has made such a difference.

Many might not know, but Viktor has a very rich background in stone masonry and sculpture having studied fine art in in his homeland of Hungary. So much so that he even worked for the Hungarian Parliament in a sculpting capacity and on building restorations after WWII. Fast forward a few years and Viktor was back doing what he is passionate about – teaching at the Fremantle Arts Centre. He was also involved with the installation of the water park at Elizabeth Quay.

When he’s not volunteering his time he still creates the occasional stone carving or spends time with his 7 grandkids!

“Seeing happiness in others is a great motivation. I am so happy to contribute. I love to be a part of the team and know that what we do here makes a difference to so many people.

“I never had too much but I was always happy in life and with what I had, and want to give back.”
