Your behind-the-scenes pass
We are so excited to announce our Meal Makers event will be back again this year in August. This year’s event will have a twist, we will be focusing on strengthening our relationships with our generous supporters, with fundraising an optional extra for those who participate.
The event provides a unique insight into the behind-the-scenes journey of food available at Foodbank and how it can be transformed into healthy and tasty meals for those in need.
From Monday, 4 August to Friday, 8 August from we are exploring ways to bring together our supporters to learn more about Foodbank.
The Meal Makers event shines a spotlight on how we operate, it is also a powerful relationship-building opportunity while creating meaningful interactions between our supporters and the people we serve. If you would like to hone your cooking skills in the kitchen and don’t shy away from a fun challenge, then we would love to hear from you, fundraising@foodbankwa.org.au.
Each Meal Maker receives a scenario, shopping within a budget, preparing a meal in a “MasterChef”-style challenge using fresh produce from our Community Garden and shopping as a customer would. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to share their creations with our customers out on the warehouse shopping floor.
Meal Makers offers a unique, immersive experience. It’s a chance to understand the journey of food from donation to the plates of those in need, and we can’t wait for you to join us and be a part of our journey.
