Share a Smile – Oral-B & Foodbank

A family unable to access sufficient food is often also dealing with a lack of access to other grocery items, including hygiene products such as toothbrushes and toothpaste. Through Share a Smile, Foodbank is working to increase access to these essential oral care products.

Tooth decay is the #1 most prevalent health problem in Australia, with 9 out of 10 adults experiencing tooth decay in their lifetime. To celebrate Dental Health Month in August 2017, Oral-B partnered with Woolworths and Foodbank to focus on improving the dental health of struggling Australian families.

Share a Smile, which was proudly supported by Woolworths, was a national campaign to increase access to basic oral care and information for disadvantaged Australians. During the month of August, for every Oral-B product sold at Woolworths, Oral-B made a donation to Foodbank.

Whilst shopping in-store or online during the month of August, customers supported the campaign by simply purchasing any Oral-B products from Woolworths. These purchases triggered a donation to Foodbank, helping us reach our target of 20,000 dental health kits for Australians families in need. The kits contained Oral-B toothbrushes, toothpaste and oral health care educational information.
