MADE heating instructions

Meals all day, everyday. 

Not just cooked, our dedicated volunteers transform every donated ingredient into nourishing homemade meals. Prepared with love, care and community spirit, every dish is carefully made by hand, made with purpose, and made to share.

Heating instructions:

Find the code on your Made meal label (e.g. M03, M06 or M08), then click the dropdown below for the heating instructions.

CAUTION: Product will be hot after heating, please handle with care. Heating instructions are based on a 1000w microwave or 170°C conventional oven. Not all meals are suitable for the oven – please check the instructions carefully. 

Heating times are a guide and may vary depending on your microwave capacity. Do not reheat or refrigerate once heated. 

Keep fresh meals in the fridge below 5°C until ready to eat. Use by date indicated on label. Keep frozen meals in the freezer below -18°C.

Frozen Meals


Microwave: Remove lid. Microwave on High for 10 minutes or until piping hot. Stir halfway through cooking. Let stand for 1 minute before eating.

Not suitable for oven, reheat in microwave only.

Vacuum Pack

Microwave: Remove cardboard sleeve. Do not remove plastic film. Plastic film will expand during cooking. Microwave on High for 10 minutes, or until piping hot. Let stand for 1 minute.

Carefully peel back plastic film, be mindful of steam.

Not suitable for oven, reheat in microwave only.

Aluminum Tray

Oven: Preheat oven to 170°C. Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Cover top of tray with foil, heat in oven for 45 minutes or until piping hot. Stir halfway through cooking.

Microwave: Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Microwave on High for 10-12 minutes. Stir halfway through cooking. Let stand for 1 minute before eating.

Oven: Preheat oven to 170°C. Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Cover top of tray with foil, heat in oven for 50-55 minutes or until piping hot. Stir halfway through cooking. 

Microwave: Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Microwave on High for 20 minutes. Stir halfway through cooking. Let stand for 1 minute before eating.

Oven: Preheat oven to 170°C. Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Cover top of tray with foil, heat in oven for 50-55 minutes or until piping hot. Stir halfway through cooking. 

Microwave: Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Microwave on High for 20 minutes. Stir halfway through cooking. Let stand for 1 minute before eating.

Keep frozen meals in the freezer below -18°C. Defrost in fridge  below 5°C until ready to eat.


Fresh Meals


Microwave: Remove lid. Microwave on High for 5 minutes or until piping hot. Let stand for 1 minute before eating. 

Not suitable for oven, reheat in microwave only.

Vacuum Pack

Microwave: Remove cardboard sleeve. Do not remove plastic film. Plastic film will expand during cooking. Microwave on High for 5-8minutes, or until piping hot. Let stand for 1 minute. Carefully peel back plastic film, be mindful of steam.

Oven: Preheat oven to 170°C. Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Cover top of tray with foil, heat in oven for 45 minutes or until piping hot. Stir halfway through cooking. 

Microwave: Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Microwave on High for 6-8 minutes or until piping hot. Let stand for 1 minute before eating.

Oven: Preheat oven to 170°C. Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Cover top of tray with foil, heat in oven for 45 minutes or until piping hot. Stir halfway through cooking. 

Microwave: Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film. Microwave on High for 6-8 minutes or until piping hot. Let stand for 1 minute before eating.

Keep refrigerated below 5°C until ready to eat.
