FEEDING HOPE
AUTUMN 2026
Dear Friend,
Another big year has passed, and a new chapter in the Foodbank SA & NT story has begun.
This past year marked 25 years since Foodbank first opened its doors in South Australia. What began as a single warehouse has grown into a trusted, highly efficient organisation delivering food where it’s needed most across SA and the NT. That progress has only been possible because of supporters like you.
Over summer, our team moved from Edwardstown to a much larger site in Pooraka. It’s a proud milestone, but also a sobering one. Demand for food relief continues to rise, and this expansion was essential to help us receive more food, reach more people and ensure no one is turned away.
Judy is one of those people we were able to support last summer, thanks to your generosity. You’ll read how much it meant to Judy and her two great-nephews, to receive a Christmas Hamper to get through the festive season with food, joy and dignity.
The latest Foodbank Hunger Report shows almost 1 in 3 households in South Australia, and nearly half in the Northern Territory, experienced food insecurity in the past year. Cost-of-living pressures continue to push families to breaking point, with children often feeling the impact first.
That’s why our School Breakfast and School Lunch Programs are more important than ever. Last year, your generosity helped deliver more than 1.16 million breakfasts and 157,000 lunches to students across SA and the NT, helping children attend school nourished and ready to learn.
None of this would be possible without you. As we look ahead, I’m deeply grateful to have you alongside us as we work towards a future where no child goes to school hungry.
With gratitude,
Greg Pattinson
