Cooking up a storm at the Westfield Nourish Nook
Foodbank WA’s nom! Kids Kitchen cooking workshops took centre stage at Westfield Booragoon’s Nourish Nook during the January school holidays.
We believe every child should have the chance to learn about good food. Our Kis Kitchen cooking workshops gave kids the opportunity to build confidence in the kitchen by learning to make a tasty and nutritious snack.
We gave each child a recipe card to take home and a special nom! chef hat which made the experience even more memorable.
The cooking workshops were run by our team of public health nutritionists and all our nom! recipes follow the Australian Dietary Guidelines so families can feel confident that the skills learned support healthier habits. The first two sessions of each day learnt how to make Crazy Corn Dip with fresh veggies, while the afternoon sessions were treated to Atomic Apple Crumble. All recipes are kid and lunchbox approved.
The school holiday workshops follow the success of our cooking sessions at the Perth Royal Show in 2024 and 2025, which saw hundreds of children getting hands on with fresh ingredients.
Healthy eating habits start early and simple activities like our nom! workshops help children develop skills that last a lifetime.
