Foodbank Dalyellup branch nears completion

Exciting progress continues at Foodbank WA’s new Dalyellup Branch, with construction remaining on schedule for practical completion in mid-December 2026.

Over the past two months, the project has reached several significant milestones. The building is now well advanced, with the roof, windows, doors and roller doors installed, internal walls completed, and the freezer and cool room structures in place.

Internal plumbing, electrical and security works are also progressing well, tiling has commenced in wet areas, and the warehouse yard concrete has been poured.

As the facility rapidly takes shape, the vision for a modern, purpose-built food relief hub for the South West community is becoming a reality.

Once practical completion is achieved in December, January will focus on the internal fit-out. This will include the installation of warehouse racking, office furniture, retail shelving and refrigeration equipment, preparing the branch for full operation ahead of its anticipated opening in early 2027.

The project continues to run smoothly, remains within budget and is being delivered to a high standard by Perkins Builders, whose team has done an exceptional job throughout construction.

We also recently closed Expressions of Interest for the Foodbank Dalyellup public art project and were delighted by the strong response from talented artists across the region. Following a selection process undertaken in consultation with Elders and facilitated by Gnaala Karla Boodja Aboriginal Corporation, a number of outstanding artists have been chosen to progress to the next stage of the project. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.

When complete, the new Dalyellup branch will significantly strengthen Foodbank WA’s ability to support individuals, families and community organisations across the South West. The expanded facility will help meet growing demand for food relief services and ensure the region is well supported for years to come.
