Powering food relief in Kalgoorlie Goldfields

Over the past 12 months, our incredible Foodbank Kalgoorlie partner Northern Star Resources Ltd has helped us provide 320,137 meals to the Goldfields community.

Through our charity partners we have also distributed emergency hampers and essential pantry items as part of the summer response strategy, ensuring families from remote areas have access to food.

Thanks to Northern Star, we have purchased protein and other essentials items needed by the community from local businesses.

This has been well received given we commenced providing free fruit and vegetables to our customers. This collective effort has helped to keep access to healthy and nutritious food more reliable than ever.

With the support we have also been able to focus on safety with the installation of a changeover switch in last year, following a major power outage, allowing us to use a backup generator to keep our branch running during future disruptions.

In the past year alone, we’ve support the community by delivering:

15,057 kg of protein
24,741 kg of free fruit and vegetables
20,032 of Everyday Food Essentials items

Our nom! education sessions also flourished, with 203 attendees, including 179 students from Kalgoorlie schools, all learning about healthy eating, food safety, shopping on a budget and more.
