A partnership powering food relief in the
Mid-West
With the support of Iluka Resources, Foodbank Geraldton has grown into a vital food relief hub for the Mid-West –
significantly expanding its reach and strengthening its ability to support communities experiencing hardship.
Over the past five years, this partnership has helped drive remarkable growth.
Annual meals have increased from 724,000 in 2022 to more than 1.26 million in 2026, while food distribution now exceeds 700,000 kilograms each year. These results reflect not only rising demand, but the scale of impact made possible through Iluka Resources ongoing commitment.
Community reach has also expanded significantly, with more than 31,000 client visits annually. Backed by Iluka’s support, the Geraldton Branch has strengthened its local network to include 34 charity partners and 40 schools – delivering critical assistance through both emergency food relief and nutrition education programs.
Iluka’s partnership has also underpinned key service improvements. The Foodbank Pantry range has more than doubled, growing from 20 to 48 essential products, providing more dignified and reliable access to affordable food. At the same time, our Mobile Foodbank services and regional collaborations continue to extend Foodbank WA’s reach into remote communities across the Mid-West and Gascoyne.
Beyond funding, Iluka’s people have played an active role in delivering this impact – volunteering their time to support daily operations, assist with food packaging and help prepare meals for those in need.
As cost-of-living pressures continue to drive record demand, Iluka’s partnership remains instrumental in ensuring Foodbank WA can respond – helping thousands of families access the food they need, when and where they need it most.
