Foodbank Dalyellup Building for the future
Construction of our new Dalyellup branch continues to make excellent progress, with Perkins advancing the build in leaps and bounds over recent weeks.
Significant milestones include the installation of mechanical ductwork, internal wall framing, pre-wiring for electrical and security systems, plumbing tubing, coolroom and freezer walls, gutters and downpipes, and external roller doors.
With work progressing steadily, the building is expected to be fully locked up by the end of September.
Planning also continues behind the scenes, with pricing for the branch fit-out set to be finalised shortly. Work remaines underway on the operational manual and lease contract for Youth Focus, while make-good quotes for the Davenport site were still being awaited.
Meanwhile, Expressions of Interest for the Foodbank Dalyellup Public Art Project have closed. The project attracted a number of high-quality submissions, and the selection process is about to begin in consultation with Elders, facilitated by Gnaala Kaarla Boodja Aboriginal Corporation.
Community engagement remains a key focus of the project, with the next Community Consultation scheduled to take place next month. This will provide another opportunity for local community members and stakeholders to stay informed and contribute to the project’s development.
With so much progress already visible, the Dalyellup project continues to be an exciting development for us and the communities it will serve.
