Collaborative Supply Program

Turning our ‘surprise chain’ into a supply chain

We have Foodbanks in every state and territory in Australia and provide food relief to 2,844 frontline charities and 3,379 school breakfast programs.

We can’t rely on donations alone

That’s why we created the Collaborative Supply Program, a world-leading initiative that brings manufacturers and their suppliers together to produce essential foods reliably and sustainably.

Everyday staples you know and trust

The staple foods we currently produce via a collaborative supply program are everyday staples and brands you’ll likely have in your own kitchen, covering a variety of essential categories to help keep food on the table.

Why it matters

Right now, millions of Australians are struggling to put food on the table, and at worst skipping meals or going whole days without eating.

The rising cost of living means more people are turning to food relief, and they’re needing support more often.

At Foodbank, we believe everyone should have access to good food, no matter their situation.

How the Collaborative Supply Program works

We agree on a product and production volume with our partners using their existing manufacturing facility and production capacity.

We then work along the supply chain with farmers, ingredient, packaging suppliers and transport companies to seek their support. Their support can be donations of their component, such as an ingredient, packing or transport. Another option is providing financial assistance to cover the cost of their part.

For the components that cannot be fully donated, we use funds from industry and government to fill the funding gap.
