Driving access where it is needed most

Thanks to the support of Southern Ports, Foodbank WA’s Mobile Foodbank is expanding its reach across the Southwest

– driving access where it is needed most, more often, to regional communities.

Through an investment of $25,000 (plus GST) between January and June 2026, the partnership is helping strengthen access to essential food relief for people facing hardship. By increasing service frequency and extending delivery, more communities are now able to access regular, reliable support.

Already, the impact is being felt across key locations. In towns like Boyup Brook and Nannup, services have increased from monthly to fortnightly, while Brunswick, Harvey and Bethanie Eaton have seen services expand to weekly visits – ensuring more consistent access to food.

This expanded reach has translated into meaningful results, with significant increases in meals and food distributed across the region. Harvey alone has seen over 9,000 additional meals provided, while other communities have experienced strong growth in food access, helping to meet rising demand.

Southern Ports’ partnership is a powerful example of how targeted support can help scale services and make a real difference – ensuring more Western Australians can access the food they need, closer to home.
