Food Relief Partnerships
strengthen community support
Collaboration continues to play a key role in expanding access to food relief and support services across Western Australia.
As part of our ongoing work, we have been partnering with organisations including Orange Sky, Thread Together, Street Doctor, and a range of hosting agencies to strengthen existing relationships and establish new connections.
Together, we are working to develop safe, sustainable, and long-term service models that deliver meaningful outcomes for community members accessing Foodbank and other support services.
These partnerships are helping create more integrated pathways to assistance, ensuring people facing hardship can access not only food relief, but also a broader network of wraparound support tailored to their needs.
We have also been pleased to welcome representatives from Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation to our Perth branch. Their recent visit provided a valuable opportunity to share insights into Foodbank WA’s operations, learn more about each other’s work, and explore opportunities for future collaboration. The visit was met with positive feedback and further strengthened our relationship with the organisation.
Meanwhile, the Noongar Outreach Service (formerly Noongar Patrol) has been engaged by our team and is currently progressing through registration to become a referring agency for a new program. This partnership will help connect more people with the support and services they need.
We’re also pleased to see Hope Community Services’ Outreach Program recently register to purchase through the Foodbank Pantry. This will enable their team to provide additional food assistance to community members experiencing hardship and further extend the reach of essential support services.
Looking ahead, significant progress continues across our Mobile Foodbank operations, with ongoing planning around service relocations, investigations into regional expansion opportunities, partnership development, and community engagement activities.
By working closely with community organisations and stakeholders, we are building stronger, more sustainable service delivery models that improve access to food relief and complementary support services. Together, we’re creating pathways that help individuals and families not only meet their immediate needs but also connect with the resources and support required to thrive.
If you have any questions about how you and your Agency can expand your access to food relief and support services for your clients, please contact Cassandra Martin Foodbank WA Agency and Mobile Network Manager.
