Al,
Perth WA

Al isn’t your average volunteer. By day, he’s a warehouse whizz, zipping through the aisles of Foodbank Perth as he packs hampers with precision. By night, he’s Al the musician.

I'd come here every day if I could

For the past 18 months, Al has been a constant presence in our Perth warehouse. For three days each week, he is working hard to ensure our Mobile Foodbank is always stocked with the latest hampers.

Al saw volunteering as a chance to hone his work skills while lending a helping hand to those in need. And trust us, he’s a master packer. Those perfectly stacked beverage packs, the meticulously arranged snack bags, and the breakfast hampers overflowing with goodness – all bear the unmistakable stamp of Al’s care.

But it’s not just about the packing. Al’s passion for helping others shines through in his every interaction. He believes that if you’re lucky enough to be in a position to give back, why wouldn’t you?

Al’s journey with us started with a simple desire – to improve his work skills. But what he discovered was so much more. He found a community where he could contribute his time and talents to make a real difference in the lives of those struggling.

With his human Tetris skills and his big heart, Al is making the world a brighter place, one hamper at a time.
