Do you have a Workplace Giving Program?

Times are tough, and the cost-of-living crisis is pushing many people to crisis point.
Last financial year we provided 9.2 million meals to Western Australians through our charity partners and schools. Sadly, we know that there is still an unmet gap of 30%.
In this new financial year, consider our Workplace Giving Program which provides the opportunity to show your commitment to changing the future of children, individuals and families in our state, one meal at a time.
You decide how much to donate from each pay, and your donations are pre-tax, reducing your taxable income. Double your impact by asking your employer if they match donations.
It is easy to set up through your payroll system, eliminating the need for you to arrange cash or cheques or set up direct debits.
Additionally, workplace giving creates a ripple effect. When employees see their coworkers giving, especially when employers match donations, it builds a culture of compassion and shared purpose. This collective effort can lead to real, lasting change – not just for the charity, but for the communities they support.
“One of the most meaningful ways workplace giving makes a difference is by providing a steady and predictable stream of income. Unlike one-off donations, regular contributions from employees allow us to plan ahead, invest in long-term programs and respond more effectively to ongoing needs in our community.” said Foodbank WA CEO Kate O’Hara.
Your donation will help us to support people like Lisa, who having only moved to Western Australia a few years ago, was excited to start a new chapter of her life. Her kids are grown up and while all of her family live in NSW, Perth offered the sea-change she was after. Everything was working out well for her, she loved the weather and laid-back Perth lifestyle, and she was enjoying her job. Then out of the blue Lisa became unwell in January of 2024.

It quickly became evident that she would be unable to work at all, and Lisa’s work leave evaporated. Her full-time job that was her safety net, was gone in an instant. She hasn’t been able to work since. A terrifying concept – considering the cost-of-living crisis which has been swirling around for years now, and the never-ending bills which land in our inboxes and mailboxes like clockwork, only to be more expensive than the last.
“I think that Foodbank is the difference between eating and not eating. Some weeks, I don’t have money for food, and this is where I come because I can’t afford the supermarkets. Sometimes you can’t get absolutely all of your shopping there, but it can make a big difference to supplement what you do have to buy at the supermarket. Some weeks, without Foodbank, I wouldn’t be eating at all.”
Every dollar makes a big difference. Your generous support ensures we are there when we are needed the most.
