Maggie’s volunteer story

“What don’t I love about Foodbank, I love everything!”
Maggie is one in a million. Recently celebrating seven years with Foodbank Peel and we can’t imagine the branch without her.
Having relocated to Mandurah eight years ago, Maggie thought it would be a great time to start volunteering. She connected with the Peel Volunteer Resource Centre, and Foodbank was one of the options they suggested. She popped into the branch for visit and started the very next day, gift wrapping for Christmas at the shopping centre, and then started in the branch the following week.
When asked what she likes most about Foodbank her answer is full of passion “What don’t I love about Foodbank, I love everything!”
It’s my happy place. I love the family feeling I have with the team, I have the best little pocket rocket Boss, building friendships and bonding with everyone I am around. As well as everyone cares for each other. We get to be part of the paying it forward, by caring for our community in the work we do.”
In her spare time Maggie loves cooking, it makes her excited to be creative and to experiment with food. And of course, spending time with her family.
We are so lucky to have you Maggie, thank you for everything that you do.
